RWE Launches Community Fund in Normandy and Hauts-de-France Regions

by Barbara

RWE has launched the inaugural call for projects under its new community fund, aimed at fostering stronger ties between renewable energy production and local communities in the Normandy and Hauts-de-France regions. The fund, which is backed by the output of RWE’s wind farms in Catillon-Fumechon (Oise), Ronchois (Seine-Maritime), and Troisvilles-Reumont (Nord), is endowed with €120,000 for its first year and is designed to support public-interest initiatives.

A Commitment to Local Impact

Katja Wünschel, CEO of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia, highlighted the company’s dedication to supporting the regions that host its wind farms. “RWE is rolling out its community fund to support the regions that host our wind farms and their communities. This fund extends the impact of our actions by delivering tangible benefits that contribute to local solidarity initiatives. Local and shared—that is how we envision the energy transition,” Wünschel explained.

RWE will assess proposals based on their alignment with the fund’s core themes, the quality and clarity of the proposal, its feasibility, and its ethical compliance. A geographic criterion will prioritize projects that directly benefit the areas surrounding RWE’s renewable energy operations.
