Japan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Precision Instruments, Electrical/Machinery and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 fell 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Minebea Mitsumi Inc (TYO:6479), which rose 3.40% or 84.50 points to trade at 2,567.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Taiyo Yuden Co., Ltd. (TYO:6976) added 3.21% or 137.00 points to end at 4,407.00 and Advantest Corp. (TYO:6857) was up 1.72% or 275.00 points to 16,230.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kansai Electric Power Co Inc (TYO:9503), which fell 4.33% or 101.50 points to trade at 2,242.50 at the close. Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co Ltd (TYO:4506) declined 4.16% or 23.00 points to end at 529.50 and Inpex Corp. (TYO:1605) was down 3.88% or 91.50 points to 2,266.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2766 to 911 and 187 ended unchanged.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 5.82% to 16.92.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.12% or 1.01 to $89.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.12% or 1.06 to hit $93.28 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.19% or 3.75 to trade at $1,949.95 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.13% to 148.04, while EUR/JPY rose 0.18% to 158.19.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 104.86.
