German stock markets closed with significant gains on Friday, driven by robust performances in the Retail, Technology, and Consumer & Cyclical sectors.
At the close of the trading session in Frankfurt, the DAX index advanced by 1.06%. Additionally, the MDAX index recorded a gain of 0.91%, while the TecDAX index closed with a 0.75% increase.
Among the top performers on the DAX index, Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) stood out with an impressive rise of 6.45%, gaining 1.32 points to close at 21.78. Similarly, Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG) saw an increase of 2.56%, or 1.84 points, concluding the day at 73.68. Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) closed late trading with a 2.32% rise, gaining 0.74 points and closing at 32.67.
Conversely, the session’s underperformers included Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G), which experienced a decline of 2.17%, shedding 1.98 points to finish at 89.34. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) also recorded a decrease of 1.04%, or 0.12 points, to close at 11.46. RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) experienced a 0.94% dip, losing 0.31 points and closing at 32.73.
In the MDAX index, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) emerged as a top performer, gaining 4.89% and closing at 60.48. Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) followed closely, with a 4.70% increase, settling at 27.75. Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) gained 4.66%, closing at 102.10.
Among the TecDAX index, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) led with a 3.29% gain, closing at 62.08. Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) also posted an increase of 2.51%, concluding the session at 25.32. Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) gained 2.49%, closing at 201.50.
On the downside, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) experienced a 2.08% decline in late trading, closing at 7.25. Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) saw a 1.73% dip, closing at 25.00. Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) also recorded a 1.17% decrease, closing at 33.01.
At the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered declining ones, with 419 stocks gaining, 232 declining, and 85 remaining unchanged.
RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) saw its shares hit a 52-week low, experiencing a 0.94% decline and closing at 32.73.
The DAX volatility index, which measures implied volatility of DAX options, decreased by 5.76% to reach 17.51.
In commodity trading, Gold Futures for December delivery rose by 0.73%, gaining 13.30 points to reach $1,845.10 per troy ounce. Crude oil for November delivery increased by 0.39%, or 0.32 points, to close at $82.63 per barrel, while the December Brent oil contract saw a rise of 0.48%, or 0.40 points, settling at $84.47 per barrel.
The EUR/USD currency pair remained unchanged at 1.06, while EUR/GBP recorded no change at 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures experienced a 0.24% decline, closing at 105.81.
