Huobi Global’s cryptocurrency exchange, HTX, has successfully reclaimed the funds stolen by a hacker in late September and has extended an offer of 250 Ether (ETH) as a reward following the resolution of the incident.
On September 25, one of HTX’s hot wallets was drained of 5,000 ETH, valued at approximately $8 million at the time. Shortly after the hack took place, the company established contact with the hacker and claimed to have identified their identity.
Ultimately, HTX opted to offer a 5% reward, approximately valued at $400,000, and agreed not to pursue any legal action if the hacker returned 95% of the funds before the deadline of October 2nd.
